Elizabeth City, North Carolina  The Harbor of Hospitality

Mariners' Wharf in Elizabeth City provides complimentary dockage to boaters from near and far. Located on the beautiful Pasquotank River, Mariners' Wharf sits at the gateway to  Dismal Swamp Canal. The site was completed in 1983 through the generous donations of businesses and individuals in the community. Boaters can see who sponsored their slip by looking at the stone markers embedded along the bulkhead’s walkway.

Elizabeth City’s reputation as “The Harbor of Hospitality” grew from an impromptu wine and cheese party for visiting boaters hosted by Fred Fearing and Joe Kramer in 1983. The “Rose Buddies,” as this group of friends has come to be called, are internationally known for providing legendary hospitality to waterway travelers.  Fred Fearing passed away on October 19, 2007. Rose Buddy volunteers continue his legacy by greeting visiting boaters and providing information about Elizabeth City.

To the left you’ll see part of downtown Elizabeth City. Where it is just bustling with little shops, eating establishment, pubs and the beautiful Water Front Market every Saturday from 9-1pm into October.  Rest on the benches of Elizabeth City’s Harbor of Hospitality. Smelling the famous sweet roses that line the harbour. (Photo to top right.) Elizabeth City is a nice little town rich in history. Visit the shops, the local establishments. Listen to music every Friday night at the bakery or visit the many downtown entertainment opportunities. Like dinner and a movie,karaoke Elizabeth City has that too.  

Visit the Arts of the Albermarle’s Gallery called The Center. Visit it’s gallery and enjoy many of the paintings, photos, pottery and crafts. Purchase a piece that will give you years of enjoyment. Located on Main and Poindexter in Elizabeth City.

This page I’m dedicating to Elizabeth City NC for a short while because I just started this site and there’s not much that’s new because it is new.. Lol Below find a little information about Elizabeth City and what it offers to residents and guest. I just love Elizabeth City because it has a home town feel. No matter whether you have money or not there is always something to do with in the town or if you want to get in your car you take a ride  to the beach , park your car in the free parking areas and enjoy,  the Outer Banks. Take your fishing poll and throw out your line or just read a book and watch the waves.
